Emerson’s New Fisher® Control Valve
and Actuator System Is Industry’s Most Flexible, Smart, and Easy to Use
The Design GX control valve reduces total cost of ownership.
MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA (October XX, 2003) – Designed to simplify and reduce cost of ownership, the new Fisher® - Design GX is a compact and rugged globe-style valve system that controls a wide range of process liquids, gases, and vapors. The Design GX valve is available with a complete accessory package, including the new FIELDVUE® digital valve controller DVC2000 Series that is integral-mounted, requiring no external tubing.
Easy to specify and apply -- free, multi-language product configurator is available to simplify valve sizing and selection. Once the valve has been specified, actuator sizing is automatic.
Easy to install -- Installation is faster because the GX is small and light weight.
Easy to operate -- Less commissioning time is required because of the integrated push-button instrument and multilingual local user interface.
Easy to maintain -- Linkage-less position feedback system eliminates typical calibration problems. Live-loaded packing provides superior stem sealing and extended service life. The actuator instrument mounting is compatible with the IEC 60534-6-1 (NAMUR) mounting standard and the actuator fail action is easily reversed in the field. The optimized GX design uses many common parts throughout the product range to minimize parts stocking requirements. Parts are available through the Fisher "FAST" parts system for express shipment.
One simple valve family for all standard applications -- The Design GX meets the requirements of both EN and ANSI standards. Valve body sizes range from DN 25 to DN 100 (1-inch through 4-inch) and pressure classes are available in PN 10-40 and Class 150/300. Shutoff can be specified to meet Class IV, V, or VI. Live-loaded PTFE V-ring stem packing is standard within the GX. Graphite-based packing and an extension bonnet are available for temperatures above 232ºC. Valve body flow passages are optimized for flow stability and high capacity. A full range of materials is available including alloys.
Powers Plantweb® ready -- The Design GX with FIELDVUE® digital valve controller is a full functionality intelligent digital field device that powers Emerson’s PlantWeb® digital plant architecture. Online diagnostics performed by the GX with FIELDVUE® are monitored by Emerson’s AMS predictive maintenance software and are delivered by PlantWeb® to enable those running plants to implement predictive maintenance, anticipating and responding to issues before they impact operations, avoiding shutdowns and lengthening time between turnarounds.
